The name Shinteki comes from a Japanese word that can mean "mental," "physical", or "psychological." We create puzzles and challenges that showcase all three meanings.

Established in 2001

The people behind Shinteki have been creating challenge-oriented events together since our college days. We've run public puzzle hunts like the Shinteki Decathlon and Field Trip Disneyland, as well as many customized private and corporate events.

Our Mission: Play

Simply put, we make thinking fun.​ Shinteki events are designed to challenge and delight players, so that bonds are built naturally through shared experiences. Our events don't need to end with a lecture about what we all learned today: the gameplay speaks for itself!

Brent Holman
Game Master

Brent loves a challenge! With a background in Creative Writing, he has been developing puzzle-based adventures since 1994. Brent oversees the puzzles, story, and design for Shinteki events.

Martin Reinfried
Gadget Guru

Martin is a long-time software engineer and entrepreneur. As a founder of Excite, he has always loved building apps. At Shinteki, Martin works on all things technological.

David Andre
Chief Technology Officer

David has a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and an extensive background in stage and set design. In addition to serving as the main IT guy at Shinteki, David is a serial entrepreneur in tech.

Linda Holman

Linda has a background in guest experience, working at zoos and Disney parks. At Shinteki, she oversees location scouting, activity-based challenges, and event organization.
